New Market an Old Idea.

Old Frankfort Map

Did you know The Market is a revival of a very old idea.  When the City of Frankfort was first established in 1786, what is now Broadway was named Market Street.  The intent of this “broad street” was to allow local farmers and makers to come to town and sell their wares each month.  In fact, a large structure was later built in the middle of the street in front of the old capital lawn to serve as shelter for early Frankfort merchants.  This old idea has been revised with a modern flair to become The Market, Frankfort’s newest venue promoting local artists, craftsman, and makers. Please join us for the next Market July 28th.  It’s sure to be a good time!
